Mistral is one of the new AI startup companies, focusing on working on efficient open-weight models. Mistral has managed to draw high-performance language models using a very high level of computational efficiency.

These work very well for developers wanting scalable solutions without the very large overhead of bigger models. Mistral 7B and Mistral 12B were published last year, in 2023. The models are open-weight, meaning that anyone can use, customize, and deploy their model weights.
